Hiking
The Ain is a wonderful region for hiking, with plenty of options for hikers of all skill levels. Here are four of the best hikes in Ain:

The Great Crossing of the Ain Trail
This 170 kilometer hike crosses the Jura mountains and the hills of Bugey, offering spectacular views of the alpine landscapes. The hike can be done in 9 stages, each offering a unique insight into the natural beauty of the area.
The Crest of the Snow
An easy walk on the highest peaks of the Jura, accessible and pretty in all seasons. Magnificent view of both the Geneva basin and the Alps and, on the other side, the plains of Franche-Comté, if the weather is clear. To be done by lovers of rather horizontal distance, the difference in height being particularly modest if the Lélex gondola is taken. Ideal in winter for snowshoeing or Nordic hiking.

The Gorges of the Ain
This hike follows the Ain River through winding gorges, offering spectacular views of steep cliffs and the sparkling river. The hike is relatively easy and suitable for all levels of hikers.
Lake Genin
This easy hike follows a trail around Lake Genin, a beautiful mountain lake surrounded by lush green forests. The clear waters of the lake provide a peaceful refuge for local wildlife and are a great place to picnic or relax.
